Are you that person...(written end of 2015 but still relevant, I think...

ARE YOU THAT PERSON?

You know the end of the year is a time of mixed feelings that find expression in so many different ways. Some people look back at their accomplishments with a sense of pride and fulfillment and they feel justified in effusive celebrations, some look back and feel as if it has all been one great big waste of time and promptly slip into depression or bouts of artificial or toxic celebration such as alcohol or food binges. Some on the other hand, find themselves suddenly in the vice-like grip of panic driven frenzied thoughts and equally frenzied actions, hoping, just hoping to nail one last big deal or business or contract or life partner or baby or whatever, the list is endless.  So they jump headlong at every opportunity that presents itself for that one last try, all in a bid to end the year gloriously.
Well, that’s fair enough isn’t it? I mean, you could rightly say that some sort of activity is going on either in actuality or mentally? However, my focus is not on the individual that falls into any of the categories that I have mentioned, my question, rather, is to the person who remains blank! Devoid of all emotion! Neither happy nor sad. The person who looks back and knows only a fleeting sense of failure and helpless dismay as they watch the year drawing to a steady but inevitable end.
ARE YOU THAT PERSON?
Are you the one who year after year has learned to fix a smile on your face at yet another baby dedication while wondering when, if ever, it will be your turn?
Are you the one who avoids chat groups and other groups and possibly school reunions because for reasons you have never and cannot up till now understand, you are still single, not from choice?
Are you perhaps the one, who looks on while others are dancing at thanksgiving services and giving incredible testimonies and it takes all you have to say the right words of rejoicing but you wonder if at any time it could just be you?
Are you the one who never has money? The one who has to discreetly ask or beg for transport money to get home after service?
Are you the one who beneath all the glamorous clothing and makeup and jewelry, you are miserable and unfulfilled. In fact you wish you were not saddled with all that money and the responsibility of having it?
Are you that person struggling with gripping addictions and being eaten away by guilt?
Are you the one who has no apparent problems but lacks clarity? You have no vision and no purpose and no clue how to go about life. In other words you have really found no meaning for your life?
Are you that person whose total summation of his or her experiences throughout the year would be a sigh and a shrug of the shoulders?
ARE YOU THAT PERSON?
Now if you happen to be that person. Listen to me! I want to encourage you! I want you to realize first of all that you are obviously not alone. I want you to learn and understand clearly that you can change the status quo…
Glory to God, that in His Mercy , He chose to make us in His image, He chose to share with us His divinity and nature, He arranged for us to be ransomed! He offered us the mind of Christ!
Well it is time to use it!. You have probably heard it said millions of times. The great scholars have researched it, the deep thinkers have analyzed it but God Himself by His spirit said it in the beginning of time. Everything else is a copy of the original. As a man thinketh…?
So listen to me clearly… “IT IS TIME TO MAKE THAT CHANGE”
The change starts and ends with you. Are you willing? Grab a hold on your thoughts, rearrange your thought patterns. Speak and listen to only WHOLESOME words, you know how scripture says that the entrance of the word brings light? Oh yes! You can literarily recreate your circumstances. Refuse doubt and negativity. Stir up that which is preloaded into your life from heaven. Dust off toxic friends and nay sayers.  It’s okay and more than enough to believe in yourself and your dreams. Banish limiting beliefs and be persuaded that you can do this!
Really, it’s easy. Lay hold of the word of God and ALWAYS align yourself to what it says. Meditate on the promises. Fill the garden of your mind with light and watch the darkness disappear! Allelluah addictions are broken! Depression is lifted! Purpose is established! Clarity is in play!
Reign in your thoughts, do whatever it takes because that is where the battle is won or lost. Open the eyes of your understanding and think of yourself as who God says you are… that my dear friend, is the secret of success… “As a man thinketh in his heart…so he is. Proverbs 23:7
